Might be making a trip to PA for the weekend (driving Corona Express). If I do go, I'll post here. Let me know if you guys need anything delivered/picked up along the way.

Just heard about this. It happened just outside of Oceana Naval Air Station. Bad thing is that that area is densely populated, but not with tall buildings/housing. Heard that the aviators were able to eject but haven't heard about any ground casualties/injuries. Hope no one was hurt.
I've always thought that Navy aviators were brave enough to guide their aircraft to unpopulated areas prior to ejecting. Well, at least the ones that I've known throughout my career seemed like they would do that. Then again, i don't know the specifics (altitude, direction, speed, equipment failure, etc) so who knows if they did the right thing. IIRC, Pete (FISH22) still works out of that base and might be able to shed some light (unclass info only).
Hoping no one was home when it crashed...

So far, the local news is reporting 7 people injured with nothing major - 2 avaiators, 3 refusing treatment, and 2 slightly injured. So far, no casualties. But there are 3 more apartment units that require searching.

Seriously crazy stuff. This is actually the squadron(VFA-106) that I'll be transferring to next month. I'm honestly so glad I'm not there right now. Investigations for things like this last a LONG time, and usually ends up with people losing crows/anchors/bars.

I was watching the news updates on WAVY-10 with Andy Fox reporting. He's such a ditz sometimes. He was reporting live and was saying how the citizens who were on scene were helping out the Newport News Fire Department. Umm, Andy, you're reporting live from Virginia Beach...
