Default Sold the S2000

I've been MIA for awhile now. I actually sold the S2000 the week before thanksgiving . Sucks it had to come to that but I couldn't afford to move and I was literally being harassed by a few cops that "detailed" in and around the area where I live. I racked up almost $1,500.00 in tickets during the months of Sept and Nov. All written by the same 3 officers. Clearly I pissed someone off. Everyday it seemed like I was being pulled over for tint, exhaust or suspension. Everytime I was pulled over I was taken out of the car placed in handcuffs and had the car searched. I currently have a lawsuit over the harassment but thats a different rant all together. With the recent street racing conviction I just figured the time to get rid of it was now. Enough was enough. Sucks because I bought my S2000 brand new and that opportunity will never present itself again. Im positive I'll find myself back in one sooner or later but not as long as im living at my current address. Im sure someone will be selling one when the time is right. Seems like there is always a gem or two for sale in the cars for sale section. LBP might be hard to find but im not too worried about it anymore. It was hard to keep clean and it showed rock chips like it was it's job.

The cops detailed cars?

Where was this exactly?

They cannot search w/o probable cause unless you give them permission,

No the area that they are assigned to patrol is called their detail. It all happened in Woodbridge. Lake Ridge to be exact. They can't search w/o probable cause... This is very true. But nothing stops them when they claim to "smell" marijuana. And they claimed to smell it everytime . Never found any but claimed it smelt like it everytime. After the third time I was pulled over and searched I talked to my lawyer and he gave me the proper steps to take . Everytime after speaking with him I would request that they call their Sgt. and everytime there was always an excuse as to why he/she was busy and couldn't be on scene. So I started filing formal complaints which were also just brushed to the side very conviently . Also part of the reason of the lawsuit.

Sorry to hear about this man. What are you going to drive in 2013 Dragon's Tail now?

Good luck on your lawsuit.

I don't know about Virginia law... But in Maryland it's the height of your headlights that matter, they can't be less then 24 inches from the ground.

Sorry to hear that. I'm going to lower mine soon, and hopefully don't have to deal with this.

For the curious, here is the relevant section of the vehicle code. The measurement is from the bumper rail itself, not the plastic bumper guard. Does anyone know how high the actual bumper rail will sit above the ground on a lowered S2k?

"No person shall drive on a public highway any motor vehicle registered as a passenger motor vehicle if it has been modified by alteration of its altitude from the ground to the extent that its bumpers, measured to any point on the lower edge of the main horizontal bumper bar, exclusive of any bumper guards, are not within the range of fourteen inches to twenty-two inches above the ground. Notwithstanding the foregoing provisions of this section, the range of bumper heights for motor vehicles bearing street rod license plates issued pursuant to 46.2-747 shall be nine to twenty-two inches."
