Steve - I was just kidding with you, but Hatty Matty the Fatty is a different story
dkhl - it seems like the instructors do it as a hobby and their pay is for a plane ride on weekends. Most of the people at Suffolk Skydive had full time week jobs. One was a High School Prinicpal and a college professor, another was going to be a jump instructor in the Air Force but retired before he had the opportunity, and maybe two or three worked there full time (I only got to chat about life with a few of them - mostly we were talking about jumping). Most of them seemed like they weren't connected to the local area and talked about moving to California and Colorado, so I would like to think that if they aren't there the next time they just roamed on.

You know what he meant Jeremy. We want to go skydiving and would rather hear someone moved, was fired, or left his wife than one of the alternatives to skydiving - not saying that any of those things are good.
Look how crazy we get when someone mentions R@!N around a S2000 meet

Orange charges about 220 same as suffolk it seems.
When i went there they charged 200 for those who have student ID's
i did a tandem jump and i swear it was the greatest rush ever.
The most dangerous part of skydiving is the landing.
but these instructors are pros, and i don't know about the whole sliding, thing, but all u have to do is lift ur legs up and let the instructor use his legs.
only bad experience was the 6 hr wait for the wind to die down. LoL.
Another great thing about Orange was the "beer fund" they collect at the end to party it up after the day of jumps are over.
Those guys are great too, after the 4th jump you can jump solo with instructors spotting you.
