Yes, skydiving is dangerous. Yes, there is risk. Yes, there is a high degree of liability. Yes, there will be many rights waivers signed if this comes about to protect the organizer and S2Ki.
With the unpleasantries out of the way....
This past weekend my girlfriend gave me a surprise birthday present of jumping tandem out of an airplane at over 14,000 feet. It was something I probably never would have done without another person putting it together. It was something I had a desire to do, but never gave it too much consideration. Now that I've done it I'd like to share the experience with others and maybe help to get someone who was like me in the air.
Here's a what I posted in answer to a few questions about it:
[QUOTE=BNavZ,Mar 21 2005, 09:25 AM] Wow, that must've been REALLY fun! Glad you had a good time!

I'd straight up do this. It all depends on when though... $219 doesn't seem that bad at all, and if youre saying with more people rates can be brought down more, then that'd be even better. I always thought that skydiving would cost MUCH more than 200 bucks...

I more want to see who would be interested than when right now. I know when has a ton to do with it, but when is going to be May at the soonest.
The Skydive Suffolk people like at least two weeks notice and if there are enough people we may be able to run the place for the day

Wow - I thought it might be difficult to get 5 people! tesseract PM'd me to see if he could bring along some non-S2Kiers and I'm all for it - the more the merrier - BUT - I would like to see how many S2Kiers are interested first. It would be really cool to see the parking lot full of S2000's and get the Skydivers to snap pictures of it as they come down.
Even if you don't want to jump out of a perfectly good airplane, it is very cool to watch. While the jumpers are silhouetted by the sun you'll think we're being invaded until the shutes start showing with all the colors and watching the Master Jumpers land is amazing - these guys come in so fast you hear them just ripping the air!
Another neat thing about skydiving is the high - it has lasted me since early Sunday (March 20th) afternoon, when we jumped, and is still going strong. I've never had such a high before.
This is also a great stress reliever - when stresses came up yesterday I would think "that sucks, but I jumped out of plane"

That said, I'd still be interested. Traveling through Orange, I have often wanted to stop and inquire about pricing. They come in right at the airfield on Rt 20. Most times, however, we were en route to the UVA for Janet's stuff.

Well, I'm coming back to the board when I have time. And seeing this thread, I WANNA F**KIN' GO!!!!
I've always wanted to do it. I might even go for a skydiving license (12 jumps I think, was something like $2k 10+yrs ago). For me it would be a business expense. Then I can tell clients that I'm a skydiving cameraman and raise my rates
