Singing the Oil Cap blues
eh... well, I guess the dealer didn't tighten it enough. It was fine for the last two weeks or so (since before I went to Cape May), but today I noticed an oil burning smell popped the hood and it was gone.
Does anyone have a spare oil cap, please?

on another note, i would call the dealership, explain to them what happened, and i dont see why they wouldnt give you one out of good faith. when i last had my car in the shop, they somehow broke the grip on my oil cap, i didnt notice untill i did my next oil change (and cut my thumb when i tried to turn it) but i told them and they told me to come by and pick up a new one, no charge.

Thanks everyone for their offers. Instead of costing someone money for shipping or inconveniencing people here, I got my friend to chauffer me over to Salvo's and I picked up a new cap for $5. Now I have to go home and check the oil level and clean up spilled oil off the valve cover. Good reason to invest in a spoon oilcap (or something red)
