Jeremy

check out this video (go to link and scroll down about 3/4 of the way down; it's a foreign language site but you can see 'rx-8' in the title; i think it's the 8th link from the bottom). it's a 15 Mb excerpt (slow download) from the show Top Gear where they evaluate the rx-8 on a track. it has the identical lap time as an m3!

my brother has an rx-8. i wasn't really into them until i got to drive one. an i have to say that i really like it -- a bit of a softer ride, but handling wise for most of us, it doesn't give up much, if anything, to the S (unless you're michael shumacher, then it might make a slight difference).
Stock S2000 vs. Stock RX-8 handle similiarly? NO! Do I like the RX-8? Yes, but there is no way that you made you're statement without being under the influence of something!

you're right, they don't handle similarly. but note that i never said that they did, just that, to the average driver (such as myself), the rx-8 doesn't give up much to the S in that department. by that, i mean that if i were to take a spirited drive thru the twisties in my S2k and if i had a clone droving with me in an rx-8, that we'd be able to keep up with each other. *disclaimer* this is the opinion of someone who enjoys spirited driving but who has never had any formal training in high performance driving... but i did stay at a holiday inn last night

now, if you'll excuse me, i need to get back to

They are both great cars and I could debate pros and cons all day long about whats better and whats not. However, I will not do that on an S2k forum... .

Here is a current photo as of two weeks ago....thought I would share!

Ryan, don't get me riled up! I already stated that I like the RX-8. But they are not the same type of vehicles by any stretch. That is why it is ludicrous to compare the two. Your car looks... okay.

You wouldn't recognize the PrincesS anymore. I even painted the hood to match!

Just for saying that I will have to make a trip down and drink with you one night. As a matter of fact I think I might come down that way to take the 8 on its first long distance drive with the turbo setup. We are still waiting on a part to complete it so it might be next week some time. Ill let you know what happens. However, I refuse to drive on to base. So we will have to meet somewhere else.

Let me see pics of your S. I cant belive the hood is the same color now.
