S2KI Equivalent for RX-8?
Despite my best arguements for the merits of owning an S2000, my brother has decided to purchase an RX-8. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a good community of RX-8 drivers so he could pick up some good tips and meet some people before taking the plunge and purchasing.

Has he test driven the car? Just curious... I test drove one, and IMO it's a decent car.. just not that sporty. It might look sporty, but the way it feels when you drive is like driving the IS300. You don't feel the road all that much, but it looks alright going down the road.

I've test one also. The RX-8 is a beautiful car but it seemed a little big. The turning radius isn't all that either. The biggest thing to me even though it can be moved it the rear view mirror. I felt like I had to crouch to see it and I'm not that tall. But I still like it. Its a great car. Just remind him it is only putting out 180 bhp.(Don't know if it is right. I was reading about it in one of the street encounter forums)

www.rx8club.com is the site i would recommend also.
my brother has an rx-8. i wasn't really into them until i got to drive one. an i have to say that i really like it -- a bit of a softer ride, but handling wise for most of us, it doesn't give up much, if anything, to the S (unless you're michael shumacher, then it might make a slight difference). it's very well-balanced with neutral handling characteristics. it's got a 9,000+ rpm redline, and the rotary engine is SOOOO smooth; the smoothest motor i've ever experienced. it's fairly practical also, with 4 usable seats and an 8.5 cu ft trunk, and depending on how it's optioned out, it's still only about 100-150 lbs heavier than an S2000 i believe. i think one downside is gas mileage, which seems to average in the 16-17 mpg range.
my brother got his rx-8 one wk before i got my S2000. i test drove his car pretty hard and would've been happy to have gotten one for myself, as i was car shopping at the time (just a coincidence, my old car died the week he got his). but for variety's sake, i wanted to get something different from what he had, and fortunately i found a good deal on my S. had the deal fallen through though, i'd probably be driving an rx-8 right now. as it turns out though, i LOVE my S2000. but i also have high regard for the rx-8.
if your brother gets one, take it out for spin!
