Tom, so you're the guy Tom was talking about. How many bars are you picking up?
One for myself. I've asked selected DelVal and Metro owners to get in on the deal and no one wanted one I am going to Charlotte to pick up a Cobra kit car from paint, and Bethania is on the way so I figured I would save on shipping. What have you done with the GFL bar you had Skip?

The Hard Dog bars are not SCCA approved. There is no stamp or other approving markings on the bar. SCCA rules are always subject to change. That said, when asked yesterday, Tom replied to my question pertaining to SCCA compliance with the following: (paraphrased)"We've been making bars for cars that run in SCCA and have not heard of any of them not being in compliance."

http://www.scca.com/_FileLibrary/File/2006...TrialsRules.pdf

pg. 42 and 43. The HardDog bar looks like it would pass . The bar does not need a stamp to pass tech, it just has to meet or exceed the rules when examined.

I'll give you a buzz when I have a good stretch of time here.

Hmm, I've been wanting/needing a bar for quite some time. I wanted a GFL bar but that seems to have fallen through. So is the Safety 21 Bar and the Hard Dog Bar the only bars available that pass SCCA regulations? I'd like to keep my stock roll hoop covers if possible, taking out the rear soft top tray or cutting it isn't a problem though. What are my options?

Nevermind, I just checked the link to the R&C forum. Thanks!

Safety21 bar does not meet SCCA standards. It has been used in NASA events for the last several years.

I have a bar going through my center console... beacuase thats the correct place for a harness bar. most of the other bars have them too high and its not the optimum angle... or so they told me.

the bar that has really impressed me is that new one... i saw it in some thread. guess that doesnt really help out much.

ill see if i can find it.
