oh yeah... totally forgot about that...got held up by that SLK almost 3 times every run!!
OMG! I could have sworn there was 4 SLKs out there because it felt like I ran into one every other lap with the same license plate.

Great Weekend, Saturday could have been a little cooler, but I still had fun. I had much better sessions on Sunday and I ended up saving my best session for last. We had a few drops of rain in the last session but nothing to make me pull into the pits.

It was good to see you all again, and it was great to meet some of the guys I've never meet before.

I somehow managed to go threw the entire weekend without taking a single picture . I can't wait to see some of the shots that Tom took though

They tried multiple instructors with the driver of the silver SLK. The last instructor to work with him has several decades of experience and he got out of the car after the last run looking like his head was going to explode He told me that the fastest speed he saw while riding in the SLK was 60 mph. He said that whenever he tried to get the guy to go faster he just said "I am not in my comfort zone now". He also said that the student never once payed any attention to driving technique, he just did his own thing. At least he did give point-bys on the second day. My wife lapped him 3 times in a MIATA!

We joked (partially serious though) about duct tapping a big foam, pointing finger to the roof and just allowing unlimited passing, anywhere around that one, single car.

Perhaps, but he/she was still going faster than me.

It was great to meet the new track junkies as well as seeing the familiar faces again. First and foremost, thank you very much Cale for hooking me up with a bed, food, and brake pads this weekend Thanks to Keith as well for graciously supporting the S2000 crew for the weekend. It would have been torture without A/C, canopies, and refrigerators Thanks again Pete for the ride along, I was able to pick up some more time using some of the Miata's lines.

Here are the pics in no particular order...

Skip,
I bet you were going faster just casually driving around town (while obeying speed limits) than the SLK.

Did anyone talk about the F430? He made my heart skip a beat at the end of the back straight. (slowed down to 30 with me behind him)

Heres a video I took... not the best sound, but the little camera (250 bucks at circuit city) did a good job. Unfortunatly I didnt get my last two sessions, camera was out of power, but this is my second session here... one fairly clean lap, on an old set of Hoosiers... (should they squeal?)

I probably should post it in the fall colors forum so people can see the track in an S...
Really wish I could have been there Sunday. It was deffinatly a nice day to be out there.

Skip,

UPS says the roll bar will be delivered Tuesday. I'm going to attempt the install with the assistance of my lovely S2000 driving girl friend and/or my Shelby Cobra driving neighbor. I'll let you know when I need you to rescue me

I kept telling the instructor he needs to look farther around the corner...

Nice video Cale Any guess on a best laptime? When my buddy rode with me the first day and we put the data logger in the car, it showed consistent 1:54's. I know I was going slower than when I was on R-comps, but not 7 seconds/lap slower! Sunday was a lot better, although I did not time, my end of straight speeds were approaching what I was able to get with the R-comps.

BTW...street tires blow
