My iPod has a lap timer feature that I'll use. I'll try and time other's sessions if you would like. Be forewarned, timing can lead to overdriving which can lead to screeeeeeeeech.......boom!!
First off if one reads the rules Lap Timing is prohibited.
With that stated and out of the way it has been my experience for the most part that when one is concentrating on improving one's lap times instead of concentrating on their driving the end result is more often than not over driving and producing a slower lap time. Remember, that four wheel drifts may look cool, but they are the slowest way around a race track compared with driving a nice smooth line within "The Friction Circle" or that imaginary rope connecting your right foot to the throttle in relationship to the steering wheel.
If anyone has questions about this concept please do not hesitate to ask before I get in your car with you.
Thanks.
See you over the weekend.

I took that from a little cessna 152 last year. I was supposed to be there but had to fly a gulfstream later that day.
On the other hand, I have a warm spot in my heart for the Gulfstream G-5 (now 550). But I flew in the Air Force version known as the CA-37 . It is the highest and fastest that I have ever been. FL 410 with a ground speed of 761 (with a nice tail wind)

Cale, it wasn't tail number N757BV from Janelle Aviation by any chance? That was the plane that I soloed in back when it was owned by Charlie Benn that owned the old WoodBridge Airport (showing my age here).

How much for the weekend Skip? I'd be interested, but how easy is it to install and use it? Do you have to drill holes or anything?
We all know timing is the devil, however, in addition to providing lap times, a datalogger provides invaluable learning data that you can only get from such a device. Reviewed immediately following a session(while still fresh in one's mind), one can look at the actual line driven for each section of each lap. It can record lateral and longitude(accel/decel) g's, speed, and a whole host of other useful tidbits(with add'l sensors).
Rarely does one get a completely clean lap(s) anyway, so obtaining "hot" lap times is not as easy as it sounds.

I will not be driving this weekend.
I may still come up one day to ride shotgun- haven't been on Shenandoah since May '05.
