Default Ride Height Question and Brake Pad Problem

I want to raise my car a little, just curious what the stock ride height and others height is... I used a tape measure and measured from the ground to the top center of my wheel well... to right were the metal starts. Could some of you give me your measurments if you have time?

Front
24 5/8 inches

Rear
24 3/4 inches

My front lip is 4 3/4 inches above the ground
My front strakes are 2 3/4 inches above the ground
I dont really need to be this low, but it looks soooo good! Im getting another alingment on tuesday, so I figure it would be a good time to change the height a little

heres what my alingments gona be (all degrees)
front camber 1.7 caster 6.5 toe 0

rear camber 2.5 toe .5? in

Last question... my rear brakes are showing some strange wear...

the pads are wearing faster on the outside of the pad... on both sides of the car all 4 pads have the same wear, just on the outside... what have you all noticed?

THANKS!
Cale

Cale,

Do you have a shop manual? There is a section that covers ride height

Front is 192-202mm from the center of the head of the lower arms front bushing bolt (to the floor)

rear is 220-230mm from the center of the head of the lower arms rear bushing bolt.

If I can find my notes from my first coilover install in 2003 I will let you know I should have the stock height numbers.

The pads are wearing more on the outside of the rotor? My pads seem even for wear but my bikes pads wore like that? I dunno why?

Make sure your calipers are not sticking. I rebuilt my fronts last year (not recommended, buy remans instead)

the backing of the pad has a small pin. make sure you turn the rear brake piston so that the pin fits into the slot when you put everything together. if you remeber the piston has an x slot in it. if the pin is not sitting in the slot the pad will apply pressure unevenly against the rotor. it happened to me thats why i know.

well, you got me thinking about it last night, and I was thinking... No way would I do something that stupid...

Then without even thinking I changed the rear pads... drank a couple beers and came home....

Then when I got home I started thinking about it... I never checked that the nipples fit in that cross... its hard to get at them cause its the inner pad, etc...

so Skip and 333 thank you very much... im 99% sure thats the problem but Ill confirm it tomarrow
