Well...... Pointy's talking me into at least keeping the Saturday drive plans "open", but I want to pass along my experiences this evening to all that are interested in the upcoming drive. Most folks should be aware that Richmond & points west got another smattering of snow this past weekend. Well, tonight's drive reminded me that when snow comes...VDOT sands the roads . I want to say right now, that with little precipitation forecast between now & this coming Saturday, there's *IS* going to be sand on these roads. My concerns for mentioning are two-fold: 1) Sand makes for "sandblasting" [with our S-02s & alignments], and 2) Sand makes for poor traction in turns and what-not .
So be forewarned. I'm approaching Saturday as Alex suggested...we'll keep the meet as scheduled...hit the roads (gently)...get some radio feedback from those driving as to whether they like what they're experiencing or are not happy...and then see where we go from there.
Worst case...GT4 & Logitech steering wheel action back at my place.
Best case...nice jaunt on some backroads (cuz things worked out and the roads cleared fine in a matter of a few days time).
BTW, I've decided since the group (even as is thus far) is small enough, I *will* start from my home. So if anyone that is planning on attending the drive doesn't know where I live...send me a PM and I'll shoot you my addy.

How about turning Saturday into a lunch with a possible drive if we think the roads are clear. We can all grab lunch around noonish, and discuss whether we want to drive or not then.
I definitely do not want to take my fresh paint job through a sandblasting
