All I had on my BMW were Performance Friction Z-rated pads and ATE racing blue fluid and they held up fine...most of the time. I didn't experience any brake fade with the stock s2k in March either...or maybe I'm just oblivious to it.

I'll be there Saturday afternoon to spectate.

I got a fresh set of pads from wingman, so I think I should be fine for a day...I shouldn't be braking much anyway.
I had complete brake pad fade after 3.5 laps on Shenandoah on a completely stock AP2 (Victoracer tires) and I was taking it easy.

SC S2000 on Shenandoah with stock brakes is NOT going to work (unless you are really slow). Short of funds$$$? Brakes are the LAST place you try and save money.

Just finished going over every nut and bolt on the trailer. I'm glad I did. Some of them were a bit loose. The car's ready too. Bled brake fluids, visual check of all suspension components, brake lines, fluid leaks, etc., etc.

All I need to do tomorrow is a quick wax job and to pack stuff up. I've even installed a straight pipe and drove the car around a few days to let the ECU adjust the long-term fuel trim (if necessary). I'm planning to use a couple gallons or so of 98 octane gas on track to raise the octane a couple of points just to be safe. The car's a bit louder but not loud enough!

I know how you feel Skip. I hope I can get some sleep tonight and tomorrow night. I'm getting more and more excited!!!
My car is so loud with the straight pipes right now. And, one of the rear tire (R888) is showing a big sign of wear. My tech thinks it'll be good for Saturday and not so sure for Sunday. Thinking of getting a new pair this evening but at the same time, I really want to use the current pair till it goes down to the cords. Decisions decisions....

Can you bring an extra set of wheels and tires? That way, you can drive on the new set on Saturday and use the old ones for Sunday. The old worn down R888's will be quicker than the newer ones if you don't shave them.

Good point. I've never run on track with OEM pads, so I have no idea how they would hold up. I've always used race pads, even with stock tires.

Yeah, I know the importance of big bend. In a stock s2000, I was flat out from the exit of corkscrew through little and big bend. I thought that was no problem, but I can imagine things are going to require a little more finesse this time around.

My brakes are NOT ducted...am I going to die?
Damn, flat out from the exit of corkscrew? You're fast! Were you alone or Ed riding with you?

Last year there was a tire vendor on site that could mount up your new Nittos for you, don't know if they're coming this year or not though.

I'm so excited I just wet myself a little...

I know what you mean. We'll have a pretty big group at this event. Plus there'll be many other drivers that I know driving at this event. Should be a blast.

Anyone interested in using a DL1 datalogger for the day?

I do have an extra set of rims but street tires are on. Not sure I want to take 'em off, mount the new R888s, use them for Saturday to break in/heat cycled, then mount the street tires back on again after the event. LoL. Other set of rims are in different color too but I don't care much.
