I put a straight pipe on my car last weekend too, but the exhaust is still too quiet. That's ok though. I must have saved about 5 pounds in the switch.
I haven't heard S2k on straight pipes. David's exhaust is pretty loud.

It all depends on the exhaust. I've been behind S2000's with Invidia exhausts on track (with a cat), and they're loud as hell. I couldn't even hear myself think. My exhaust is a quiet design, so I don't think it'll ever get loud. That's ok though. At least I don't have to wear an ear plug on track if I don't want to.

I have a stock exhaust on now. Car sounds like a vaccuum cleaner.

Used to run Invidia w/ testpipe. I then went to the T1R 70RT single with a testpipe. Sounded menacing on the track.

Now, stock header, testpipe, and stock exhaust... Too damn quiet... and heavy.

I wear ear plugs at the track, cut's out all the wind noise, you can hear you engine better.

I have been wearing plugs on my bikes for years, makes a huge difference.
I've tried ear plugs on track, and it does seem to work. I've mostly used it though when I'm driving to and from events.

Advanced group(last year anyway) was passing anywhere. Point-by's were optional.

Not sure if I like that at Shenandoah even though I feel very comfortable out there.
