So do I need an official transponder time or can I just stopwatch? I am too cheap to rent
Tom, you'll need a transponder unless I take your times with a stop watch myself.

Anyone here noticed these new rules?

Modified rules:

-All drivers in Modified Class must wear a fire suit or a combination of a fire jacket and fire pants, with a minimum SFI rating of SFI 3.2A/1

-All Modified Class vehicles must have a Fire Extinguisher mounted within the cockpit of the vehicle, within reach of the driver while normally seated, belts fastened and steering wheel in place. The mounting hardware should be nuts and bolts, not sheet metal screws, and the bracket should be metal and of the quick release type. Fire bottles constructed of plastic or aerosol-type cans are prohibited.

Ok. So, here's what I got so far.

Opposite Lock (David) - CONFIRMED - 1:40 flat with a super charged S2000 on stock suspension.
Tinkfist (Tom) - 1:42 flat with 245 RA1's all around, KWs, FSB, NFR paint, etc.
4WheelRubbingisRacing (Mani) - 1:42 flat with staggered RA1's, SRCs, rear sway disconnect, wing, big gonads, etc.
gfacter (George) - Miata - 1:46 flat with new R888's, tein single adjustable coilovers, seats and harnesses, etc.

And if interested, here are some more...

Scot (Scot) - NASA race car/racer - 1:35 flat.
Tel1sps (Steve) - Expert TT'er - 1:38 flat.
PJCC (Pedro) - Won a HPDE1 race against a corvette at VIR by dive bombing into a corner and flushes brake fluids often at track events. - 1:48 flat. Stock.
You should also already have my current 1:45 (which I submitted to NERD Racing about 6 months ago but which never showed up on the website).

Goal is a 1:44.xx Miata with Tein coilovers. Tires will be either R888 or RA-1s (not sure which I want to run).

The R888's are way stiffer in the sidewalls. Going to be different that's for sure.

Yep. I had to get a fire suit and install a fire extinguisher just for this event. If you don't already have them, go to OGRacing.com. They're located in VA. I got my universal fire extinguisher mount, fire extinguisher and my fire suit there a few weeks ago. I'm pretty sure they have GT3 specific extinguisher mounts. You don't have to drill any holes to install them.

I have the 888s on 30mm offset 12 lb wheels and the RA-1s on 35mm offset 9.8lb wheels.

I was struggling to get into the 1:47s a couple weeks back on brand new RA-1s so 1:44s look tough to achieve (my old 1:45 looks tough to achieve).
