I changed up a bunch of things this last weekend. I ran a *radically* different line through 2 different turns on Shenandoah this weekend and it is faster! That and left foot braking at T2, T3, T8 probably netted me close to a second off per lap.

Unlike older, established tracks, the fastest way around Shenandoah (dependent on car and driver) is still open to experimentation.

If you're running stock suspension, even with a SC or turbo that you have, it's doubtful. You should still try it though.
I was obviously joking.

I think stock suspension should be adequate for now. I want to see what the car can do with just a good alignment and some decent street tires. Hell, I might even run the car as is.

I do need to pick up some track pads though.

Easy in a Miata.

Just be ready to reel things in because the first couple times you have a 50/50% chance of mashing in the clutch instead of the brake pedal. I feel pretty comfortable now but it took 4-5 events and a couple months on the street before it really clicked at speed on the track. Sloppy left foot braking = slower but precise left foot braking = faster.

I need to examine my data to determine exactly how much faster it is, I will let you know after that is complete.

Karting and playing Forza 2 with a wheel is good practice.

I might be able to apply the brakes with the left foot but threshold braking...negative.

Most of the left foot braking I do on Shenandoah is not at threshold.
