They suck. They're not accepting resonsibility. I am going after them with a vengence. I want everyone to remember that Herson's Honda in Rockville Maryland. This is the letter I am planning on sending to their service department and general manager. Can anyone give my advide on how to get in touch with the right folks in American Honda, either on a national level or on the East Coast.

I am very mad guys.

December 19th, 2001

To whom it may concern:

This letter is meant to memorialize and chronologize the events surrounding the damage to my MY2001 Honda S 2000 caused by Herson

EJ, I think on the owner's manual, there are numbers and addresses to the Honda regional offices. jschimidt posted the contact to an executive at AHM .... I am trying to run a search to find it .....

By the way, that is a very good letter.

Guys -

Very good suggestions. Moonpie - I am definitely going to proof it before I send it. Thank you for offering though. I'm going to print it out and look it over tonight. I wanted you guys to get an idea of my strategy and thoughts. I will send it via fax and confirmed letter. Great idea regarding my Honda manuel and contact information. I will also research the Honda USA websites to find other information.

It does boil down to my word against theirs. This is so incredibly frustrating. I have neither the time nor the desire to pursue this but it is something I have to do. The car needs a new front bumper and I shouldn't be the one to bear the cost.

Moral of the story is that I should have taken it to Jim Coleman (thanks for not giving me too much grief Jim )

Again - thank you all. I'm going to come up with a Honda contact list and will post it here.

My motto is never kick a lawyer when he's down.

Typo in #5.
Call 301.990.2020 to get the AHM 800 number
What about Montgomery's Office of Consumer Affairs?

Let's start a phone and letter writing campaign to the principals of the company.

Asswipes!

Thanks for that information. I edited the letter and edited my post above to reflect the changes. I added a bit more in the first and last paras. Especially regarding the need for customers to inspect their cars. There is some good language in there you may wish to use. I've also created an Excel spreadsheet with Honda Corporate contact infor. I will be filling it in tonight/tomorrow and will send out the first waves of faxes tomorrow to Honda in Torrance, Herson's, and other Honda corporate folks.

You guys are great. I was really kicking myself about this because I totally lost interest in the car over the weekend (like the damage was its fault!). I didn't even want to get near it because I thought it was "tainted" or something. If I damaged it at FATT or at the track I would take responsibility myself and be done with it. My fault, my damage, my cost. But when the "trusted" dealer does the dirty work and doesn't take responsibility that's what's really upsetting.

A number of nice folks on the board have PM'd me their suggestions for who to speak with at AHM in Torrance. I have completed, edited, and faxed the letter to a mediation specialist with them. I have also called and left her a nice, polite, VM. In addition, I have faxed the letter to the GM of Herson's Honda.

Do you also think I should separately fax the Herson's service department? Perhaps to the attention of another Service Manager (they have a total of three there - I have been dealing with one of them).

I will also be following up with phone calls tomorrow.

HP - thanks again guys.
