Welcome! I haven't heard much about Shockley and their service dealings. However you can try PM'ing marclw. I believe he's had a few experiences with them and lives in that area.
Also, you should PM W1ngman, our Community Organizer to get yourself a Mid-Atlantic Badge in your sig. Then don't forget about your VIN in your profile so that instead of "enthusiast", you'll see "Owner"!

I know it's not a problem with JCH, but it's terribly frustrating to be without one's car for soooo long. At least I didn't opt for the Echo rental.
Apparently in rebuilding the rear end a bearing needed to be ordered. That took a couple days. They put it all back together and it made noise. The replacement bearing was bad. Now that bearing is out of stock and will not be available until a week from today... maybe sooner, maybe later as those kinds of things go. So I'll be driving the Sentra for at least another week.
Steve has been good about keeping me up to date and Ben is working hard on the car, I'm sure, but this damned bearing!? I was REALLY hoping to have my car back... Enterprise wants their back... I wait... :/

My 15,000 mile maintenance is coming up, so I thought this thread could use a bump.
Is Ben still the S2K tech at Coleman? He seemed like a nice guy the one time I met him.
Any new experiences, good or bad, at any other service centers?

Nguyen hooks me up. He runs the performance shop, they will do some mods to your S and still honor your factory warrantee. Just recently they dropped my S with Eibach springs, great job I love it.
They have a nice clean shop and great wrench turners, not sure of the name that did my mod but could find out for you if you need.
Anime, are you looking to do mods or just get good service for your S?

Looking for good service, closer to home.
I might as well get on with the shortened version of my JCH Story... Let me preface it by saying that Steve and Eric have been very good to work with, and JCH has done a lot to help resolve the problems I've had. I haven't had problems anywhere NEAR this in the past with JCH. Jackie, Andy and the rest of the sales crew have also been helpful throughout my ordeal. The tech that "caused" my problems is no longer with JCH.
I had a TSB54 noise, clunking rear end (CV joint) and differential whine... All covered under warranty, it took three weeks to do these. Only the differential was still making noise (rebuild, not replacement) and it felt like something was loose in the rear, sometimes showing itself with a loud metallic "clunk" on accel from stop...
Brought it back a few days later for a ride with a tech (two, actually). On that ride, something banged around underneath (turns out it was a differential mounting nut falling off). A few days later it's in for service for a week...
Pick it up after chatting with Ben, the tech who is still there because of an owner's night. Around 8pm... Differential feels good but the parking brake requires effort to put down... No big deal, I'm just happy to have my car back. Drive to a store in Rockville, head to Starbucks, head home...
Next morning, on the way to work I notice a rubbing sound from the left rear... Cruise down 370 at 60-65, turn off on Shady Grove, turn on Gaither and then ... BAM! The car lurches and starts grinding like mad from the rear. Manage to get up into the parking lot, off the street...
SOMEONE forgot to replace the cotter pins that hold the crown bolts in place below the lower suspension arm. It fell apart, riding on the inside of the left rear wheel. Try to find a tow, no luck in the shape it's in. Next day, JCH sends their shop foreman down to put it back together enough to tow it.
"I've never seen such a lucky break." For sure. Two minutes earlier...
A new (6 miles) Black civic is loaned to me and service coupons given for future service.

A few days later, a new wheel, inboard joint (it pulled out from the diff) and misc. other parts and I'm back on the road. That was about a month ago.
I continue to have a weird whining on decel, clunking from the rear (metallic, loud, not so good sounding) and the diff case is coated in dirty oil.
Ben is now gone and I have confidence in JCH's other techs, but the expertise that Eddie brought to the table with the S2000 isn't there anymore.
Back to the shop.
