are radar jammers legal?? sounds like something that would not be liked too much by cops
Rob, with the 9500i can you load more than just false alarms into the gps? Can you put in speed camera POI's? MD is going to be getting a lot more speed cameras in the future and not all of them are detectable.

bighead,
Not yet. It has a USB connector but Escort hasn't released the software to actually do anything with it. Supposedly they are working on allowing users to upload their GPS data--false alarms and known traps--so everyone else can download and share their data. No word on when Escort will actually release the drivers and software.
The gps is cool, but the detector is just so good at eliminating false alarms without the use of the gps lockout feature, that's what makes it better than the V1. I like the V1's arrows but it goes off way too much.

I think the 8500 and 9500i are pretty close as far as just normal false alarm rejection, but the 9500i adds the gps so you can manually lockout the false alarms that are triggered during your regular commute. When I drive to work now and the detector goes off I know it's a REAL threat and check my speed. I can also set the volume louder on the 9500i since it's so quiet.

I have the new Bel STI Driver... Works great and one of the only ones to be immune to the newest detection devices, which to me is key for VA driving.
I have my hardwired and it sets on my dash to the left of my steering wheel with a piece of velcro. very easy to remove and not obvious from the outside.
