I own 360, PS3, and Wii -- so I can't say that I'm really biased.

However, I would choose the 360 over the PS3 right now. Most games are available for both systems, and generally the games look as good if not better on 360 and the online experience is better.

The 360 is easier to develop for which is why many developers choose to make the game for 360 first and then port it to PS3. It makes pretty simple sense, Microsoft is good at writing software so the tools they've written to make games are better than the ones Sony has made.

The hardware isn't all that different between the two platforms except for BluRay, and while BluRay may hold more, the BluRay drive in the PS3 is slower than the DVD drive in the 360 so raw transfer rates are slower which means if the data isn't already cached on the hard drive it will get the 360 faster.

One major gripe I have with the PS3 is the System Updates. To Sony's credit they release System Updates often although whether or not they actually offer anything worthwhile is questionable. However, every time you need to download an update it is over 100MB of data and it takes time to download and time to install. Microsoft on the other hand releases patches to their OS, so when a new release comes out (they generally do them twice a year) the data is extremely small and quick to install.

The new NXE dashboard is the exception here, its bigger because its entirely new. But it still only weighs in at around 30 megs I think?

I own 2 games for PS3 (Resistance: Fall of Man, and Gran Turismo 5 Prologue), I many many more games than that for the 360 ... easily over 10. Just to give you an idea of how much I ended up using my PS3.

If you're playing online multiplayer, the 360 is a clear winner. The library of games (old and new) is ridiculously large.

Both 360 and PS3 can stream video and audio from your PC. However, neither one supports all formats. PS3 seems a little bit better with MPEG-4 video like Xvid, and Divx obviously 360 is better with WMV although 360 supports MPEG-4 video now too and it plays all my Top Gear downloads which are Xvid format.

I wouldn't really consider an Xbox, as they are EXTREMELY outdated.

An Xbox360, however, might spice up your life a bit.

I only play racing games and I like the controls of 360 than PS3. So for me it's 360 and just like everybody says the online game is really good.
