Question on MD Front License Plate
A guy at work just told me that someone told him that if you get a ticket for having no front license plate in MD, that it's 2 points on your record. He said he didn't believe it, but went online and looked it up and saw that it was true. I tried doing a search, but didn't find anything. Does anyone know if that's really the case? Most people that I've heard about getting pulled over for no front license plate normally get a fix-it ticket...

I got a warning for it the first time. Second time it happened it was a different cop and different car. The streets are now safer with the $50 ticket I had to pay the state of MD; no points

front plate tickets are the biggest bs i've heard of. on the warning it says that they're only doing it to keep the streets safer. the only thing is safer is the states budget. they only want those front plates on so they can use radar on us. screw them. id rather pay the no front plate ticket than get nabbed for doing 3 mph over speed limit.

Check this link, look up Section 13-411(g) of the Transportation Article, Annotated Code of Maryland:

$50 fine, no points.

Unfortunately the cop can put any $$ amount they wish on the ticket. It may say $50 on the books but I got one Sunday for $55 and one last year for $70. It's cheaper than the speeding tickets they could have given me No points and no insurance penalty.
