Poll: Go kart racing
Looking to get a little get together for some GoKart racing. I figure we would do GForce Karts in Richmond. It's a midway point between SOVA and NOVA/MD. The place seems pretty cool and we could even have a little championship race. Here is an excerpt that I took out of one of the email that I had received from gforce.com:
QUOTE
"Each race is typically 8 minutes. We put 10 racers on the track at a time. We have all the Pepsi products they make, and we can do boxed lunches or pizzas etc from other caterers. We can run 60 heat races in an hour. Meaning of you have 30 people they cna all race twice in one hour for two 8 minute races. If you have a larger group, you may want to consider 1.5 hours for two races, then you could run a "championship race for the last or 9th race of the event. "
There are different ways to pay for karting.
They recommend us doing it by the hour. As of right now, the fee is $800 per hour (at least that's from the last email I received). With 30 people, it's less than $30 a person. But if we do it this way, I will need to know who is definitely going and will need the money given to me by a certain date.
Or we can do it by race. They are kind enough to offer us races at membership prices.
Single Race $17
3 Races $48
5 Races $75
8 Races $110
All Day Race Pass $110
Adult Karts go anywhere between 35-40 mph.
Super Karts are faster than Adult Karts. (I'll have to find out the what you have to do in order to qualify for these)
I will leave this poll open until the 21st and then create another thread to find out who will attend.
