police pursuit in culpepper
so saturday night/sunday morning around midnight i was heading down to lake anna from gainesville. 29 south to 522 for those of you who are familiar with the area. on my way down 522 i was stopped by 2 officers in dodge charger police cars. after getting my license and registration the officer came back to my window and asked me to step out of the car. he asked me if i knew why he stopped me i said no as i didnt think i had been speeding when i came upon them. he said he clocked me at 62 in a 45 right before the traffic light at rte 20. i explained to him that i didnt see the speed limit change from 55 to 45 and was just cruising along and there was no one else on the road so i didnt think it was too big a deal. he then proceeded to ask me why my front license plate was missing, so i told him that i had tapped a snow bank and broke the bracket but one was on order so it would be taken care of shortly. he then informed me that someone in an s2000 matching my vehicles description had been involved in a pursuit in culpepper county and they were waiting for the guy to come down 522. obviously they thought that was me. apparently the guy has a tag light out though, after he checked my lights and everything to make sure i was in fact not their guy he had me sit back in the car. when he returned to my window he said that since i had been straight forward and honest with him he wasnt going to write me a ticket for speeding or for not having a front plate. after i thanked him and he was about to walk back to his cruiser he said " oh and by the way your exhaust is illegal as well but im not going to cite you for that either. have a good night." hahaha im running a 70mm test pipe with a greddy ti-c 70mm. all in all i guess i got lucky. maybe the one who was in the pursuit is someone on here? maybe not.
