Default Pickles!

Greetings,

I recently purchased some ATE DOT 4 brake fluid, Honda DOT brake fluid (to be used for the clutch) and two containers of genuine Honda engine coolant. I plan on doing a complete flush of these fluids as I just purchased this car back in mid January. Over time I managed to change the oil, transmission and differential fluids but have not yet gotten the change to change these last sets of fluids.

I had a guy who was familiar with Hondas but lately he's been MIA working on his car and busy with work. My general rule is not to trust just any random auto mechanics because they seem rather shady when it comes to fairness of pricing. But since I've been rather desperate in trying to get these new fluids into my car, I've given in and consulted on a few local garages (I live in the Southern MD area - Waldorf). What they tell me is that they won't use the fluids I purchased and would rather just use their own. I do not want to return the fluids I purchased (especially the ATE) because I purchased them for very specific reasons. At this point I seem to be stuck. They're also charging a hefty penny and I'm not sure why.

My question is, are there any local members who would be willing to direct me to a place, or shop, that will do the brake/coolant flush using the chemicals I purchased and who can be trusted? Or alternatively, are there any members who would be willing to work on the car from there garage?

Any advice on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

My friend and fellow s2000 owner Chris lives in Mechanicsville. He is ASE certified and used to work for Honda in Waldorf. If you would like his number, send me a PM. He has worked on a lot of local s2000's including my own.

I'd have to give props to Chris as well. I was a new owner, not having the car for more than 2 weeks and he help service my car since I didn't have the garage space to do my own work. He's a real straight shooter.

Let us know when you're going over there so Matt (baZurk) and I can come over to meet you!

I was talking to Chris and it looks like he will be down sometime this week. I don't think any concrete plans have been made yet.

Shoot Dave a msg on here (yeaitsahonda). He's in Northern VA. He's very reasonable and a cool dude, only question is whether he has the time. Definitely wouldn't hesitate to bring my cars over his way.

Jimmy (VPS_AP1) is a mechanic in the Waldorf area. He's a great guy. Teach out to him. David (yeaitsahonda) is also awesome, but a considerable drive for you.
