Perhaps I worded it wrong, he cures his own leather. He buys the skins and makes the leather from that.
Very funny though, although, come to think of it, he may have cut out the middle man and just decided to do all of it. HAHAHA

I had the same problem when I had my '01. If you don't mind the drive to save some money, there is a guy here in Charlottesville that does an excellent job. He finished mine the same day, I dropped it off at 10 in the morning and he had it done by 4pm that evening. He charged $300 for the window and labor. Never had any problem with mine at all. Call Danny at 434-977-1974. The shop is called Danny's Upholstery. While I was having mine done, he was doing all of the interior of a Porshe for Dave Matthews. He makes all of the leather himself, very nice guy. Let me know if I can answer any questions you might have.
Peace.

I don't mind driving to Charlottesville at all. It's only a 2 hour drive anyways.
So he charged $300 to replace the plastic rear window with a new plastic window, right?
Any idea how much he'd charge to install a brand new top with the glass window?
I think $300 is an excellent price, almost too good to be true, especially if it includes the cost of the new plastic window.
Please let me know. I might have some more questions for you later
thanks!

Yes, $300 for everything. He only accepts cash, no checks or cards. As far as installing a new top, you would have to ask him, I just had the rear window replaced. I still have the receipt showing the charge. Call Danny at 434-977-1974. The shop is called Danny's Upholstery just off East Market St.
Feel free to call or email me if you have any questions.
