Default Ok my plastic rear window cracked tonight..

Ok so forced to do research on rectifying cracked rear window problems, it seems like Hardtop guy sells the plastic rear window for around $160 dollars. Not bad. But the install is a major pain in the butt.

I can't believe I have a cracked rear window.. Never had to deal with this issue when I used to have the '03.

Does anyone here have personal experiences with dealing with cracked rear windows on a 00-01 ?

Are there any shops aroud here that can put in the new plastic window? (If I provide the part).

Or should I just get a new top with the glass window? I'd love to do that but I don't think I can do the install. Anyone here who can help me with the install? I"m willing to pay fair $$ for the help. Or is there a reputable shop that can do the install?

If I do order a new glass top from topsonline.com, what else do I need to get to make the install work? (I have a MY 2000).

Please help.
thanks.

I just did a lot of research on this for the same reason. Install takes about 10 hours and you need a little rivet gun for the install. There are lots of places that sell tops - robbinsautotopco.com, topsonline.com (who also has an ebay store at stores.ebay.com/topsonline).

Install instructions:

Also, if you want Honda to help out, you might be able to do so by calling corporate:

Good luck

The guy does wonderful job and he's worked on several S2's before.

I had the same problem when I had my '01. If you don't mind the drive to save some money, there is a guy here in Charlottesville that does an excellent job. He finished mine the same day, I dropped it off at 10 in the morning and he had it done by 4pm that evening. He charged $300 for the window and labor. Never had any problem with mine at all. Call Danny at 434-977-1974. The shop is called Danny's Upholstery. While I was having mine done, he was doing all of the interior of a Porshe for Dave Matthews. He makes all of the leather himself, very nice guy. Let me know if I can answer any questions you might have.

Peace.

If you get a new top install it yourself. I did mine in about 8 hours with a lunch break. It was pretty easy just buy extra rivets.

Some people on the Monticello Mountain Romp were talking about that place, but they couldn't remember the name. Did you end up going on that drive? If you did, then I met you...

He has his own cows? It's very possible in that area.
