Official Mid-Atlantic CO Nomination Thread
#111
Wow...
When I first got my car almost 3 years ago I took it straight to the autoxs and track. I saw maybe 1-2 others at autoxs and pretty much no other mid-a members at the track.
This year there are up to 20 members at autoxs and I counted 14 members at a track event. Believe me this has nothing to do with me, but others that are promoting it. So where others say the community is lacking, I see it flourishing.
All the COs this year did good in their own departments.
So maybe instead of COs in different geographic areas, we should have COs incharge of different instrests. It will never happen, but thats how I vote for the COs
I also would like to state that I think mid-a is much less cliquish than it was when I first joined.

How are caravans hard to setup? I am confused.
I'm tired of hearing about happy hours for two reasons: 1) it's not something that interests everyone and by that token, not inclusive, and 2) I can never make any of them, despite working at Quantico.
Lastly, Dylan, you're not popular because you worship futbol, are not an American, and own a Suzuka.

2. It's the only thing that's keeping NoVA alive right now. No more drives, no more dinners, no more gatherings of any kind, and so on.
3. I guess you got me on that one.

When you step back and think about how many times this argument has come up over the years, it actually makes this thread quite humorous. Same arguments, different polishing.
There was a time when I wanted three CO's after being one of 2 CO's myself. After a few more years, I'm now under the impression we don't need more CO's, we need more leadership. If it takes 26 CO's to find that one Diamond in the Rough, count me in .....and that's not a statement against anybody
I'm just concerned we're all too busy to give the same kind of time anymore.

You bring up great points. The # of COs have grown with the # of user base, as it should. Some were good, some were not as active as we would have liked, some people were just very active members (like Jeff when he was at Evolution) would bring together the entire Mid-A for meets (evo super meets or the shark meets or just happy hours); no matter the case, the amount of COs should facilitate the amount of members.

Peter- gone.
Kevin - car sold(I think)- has daughter now and new job.
Khoi- car sold.
3 of the four you mention aren't in the picture anymore. There have been more get togehters than you all are remembering(me, too). The big thing- for everyone- is whether or not one chooses to participate. Your group is gone- not the Mid-A's.
And so is mine(my OG's) so to speak- Dave, Alex, Chad, Mark, Steve, etc.
We make new groups. That's the beauty. It is what one makes it.

Just because you live in NoVA doesn't mean that EVERYTHING will be in your area, for many years I drove down to SoVA or to NoVA to attend meets or to moderate issues (w1ngman and I). This is a car community, the meets won't always come to you, sometimes you have to drive to them... even in the rain

I agree with Skip. Dylan, you weren't and still aren't a very active member, so to belittle Bill in any fashion is ludacris. I personally don't have any problem with you, but you're acting as if your sh!t doesn't stink. Peter just took what was already a good showing in NoVA, due to Jeff at Evolution bringing everyone together, and Peter continued that going after Jeff had left.

If Peter was able to continue what Jeff had left him, I see no reason why anyone else couldn't continue on what Peter left.

If anyone has anything else to say about nominations, or would like to nominate someone, please let me know! This thread will not be open much longer...
He says:
"There isn't going to be a 4th CO, there shouldn't be more than 2 in the first place. There is no reason to have more than 2, a primary and an alternate. Any more and you get a committee and that is not how it's supposed to work.
Local communities have gotten out of hand and turned into local off-topic and for sale forums. That's ok to a point but it seems to be happening at the expense of the S2000 enthusiasts."
Now I know some of you think I'm pulling this out of my butt, however, I assure you that Erik did send that to me today. So, in essence, I think my first initial post in this thread is valid no? Not sure if you want to continue with nominations for a position that doesn't exist.
