Off topic-ISP that doesn't outsource American jobs
I just found out that my ISP, Earthlink outsources jobs overseas , so I'm looking for an ISP that doesn't outsource American jobs. Does anyone know of one?
Thanks,
Warren

Warren,
I'm not a big fan of importing products, yet I own a Japanese made car. And yes, I do not like that there are fewer industrial jobs because of economies worse off than ours.
Without trying to say that I approve of sweatshops and the like, I must say that we as a country, do not "own" jobs. Jobs are created be consumer demands. If we made products, in general, that people believed to be a value, they would pay the asking price. As technology grows exponentially, this trend of outsourcing will continue. I'm sure you are aware of Greespan's recent comments and have seen the immediate impact on Wall Street today.
Fact is, we have become so materialistic as a society that we need cheap products to keep up with our credit buying. I forget with whom I was discussing this very matter with the other day. Really sad to think just 60 years ago we were just realizing relief from the Great Depression. But again, technology has much to do with a large part of the work force today. And people are living way too long!!!

can you really blame them??? it's a business.. this world is a business... money makes the world go.... they get things done for cheaper overseas, so they send jobs overseas.... it's more cost effective for businesses to do this... it's sad but it's true.... people and businesses become greedy when money is involved...
