Default New to the S2000 community

Hey guys and gals! I just wanted to say hello as I am a new s2000 owner. I purchased my car back in May and have been browsing the site for awhile and finally decided to become a member. I found a good deal on a stock 2000 silverstone with low miles and had to buy it. I am not new to sports cars or forums, but really enjoy the knowledge you can learn about your car from a good forum. I enjoy doing auto cross and have already done 4 events this summer since getting my car. I do not have any intentions yet, in moddifying my car because I enjoy racing in B stock. Well I might have to get better tires soon. lol.

I have come to the Mid-Atlantic section because I need some help from some local people. I am looking to find a mechanic who knows S2000's well that I can take my car to get serviced. I know Ptuning works on s2000's but that is 3 hours away. Looking for someone in the Hampton Roads area. My car has the valve ticking noise and would like someone to listen and diagnose my car. I have attempted to adjust the valves twice with my friend who is a mechanic and the noise has not gone away. I replaced the TCT, cleaned the IAC valve and throttle body, and put new spark plugs in. The noise has not gotten any better so now it is time to take my car to a proffesional. Just looking for some reccomendations as to where I can take my car. Thank you guys for the help and hope to see you out at auto cross and local meets.

Hi Matt.

I recommend that you contact C Ory. He's also in the Hampton Roads area and a helluva S2000 mechanic.

Hi Matt! Welcome!

Regarding your noise: Have you compared it to another MY00? These are pretty noisy cars. Since you haven't had it long, it might be normal.

Welcome Matt. For you guys in the Frederick to western Baltimore & Washington area Ben Scheffer has a very experienced Honda & Acura race team mechanic that works for him. Ben and his guys do excellent work, I've used him for my motor swaps. His # is (301) 854-6252. He's a couple miles south of Lisbon, MD, just off Highway 70.

No I have not compared the noise of my car to another MY00 yet. It just seems to be to loud and had little change after I adjusted them. I just want some clarification so I don't have to worry about it anymore.

The only name you need is C_ory. He's been a mechanic pretty much his entire working life (his father owns the shop) and is a fellow S2000 owner. Several, if not most of us in the Hampton Roads area take/took our S2000s to him and he's never disappointed on either service or price. You can trust him to not oversell you on something you don't need, plus you'll see him out at some of our local meets as well. He's in Hampton.

Welcome to the forum! You'll find this is a good community... so good that even though many of us moved on from the S2K we still frequent this board and the local meets.

Some people will even come back after selling their S2000 and then get another one.
