Also might be a good idea into looking at new components and an amp(if you want the extra juice). Aftermarkets headunits tend to blow the stock speakers pretty fast.

Besides, the sound systems on pre 02 S2000s SUCK... Having no tweeters really does make the sound system sound horrible...

Whenever I had a passenger...if they move their leg over a bit it would pretty much muffle out that speaker. It was quite disorienting for me.

I see that you have MY00 so I'd suggest getting a component system to make the sound system better...

^ just get a 10 or 12 inch sub and you'll be set.....

besides who needs music when you have the beautiful sound of the f20 or f22 (if you got an ap2)

I'm more into clarity of sound than loudness. I like bass, but it has to be a nice strong thumping kind of bass, not some buzzing sound... And besides, I want to hear the music/song more than just hear the beat, so a subwoofer setup wouldn't be the first thing on my list when it comes to a sound system...

Honestly though, I wouldn't get subs in the S...A LOT of unnecessary extra weight... I'm just going to get a component system, I'm thinking about the s-pods, and I might get an amp...

with how much you weight. I really don't think getting a sub will affect anything.

If you don't get an amp, you're not going to get out the full potential of the speakers.

I know... I was thinking that I might be happy with an old Alpine head unit I have... its a 60x4 so I dunno... I'm probably gonna end up getting an amp though...

oh and why give up the edge I have cuz of my low weight by putting in some subs,

I know i know...

What I meant was I want clarity of sound from speakers inside the cabin as in the mid-higher frequencies... I want the subs to take care of the lower frequencies and I want those to have that strong thump feel...

However, I don't care for that in my S... I'll be happy with the bass that a woofer from a nice component system can produce...
