Default New to forums

Hello fellow s2k owners. I live in Richmond, VA and Ive owned MY01 for about 3 years now and have been on the forums on and off just reading up. Haven't participated any but I figured I should introduce myself since Im gonna start slowly modifying the car. Might need some advice and help from you guys.

Anyways the top was beyond gone ( holes in the typical pinch points and cracked plastic window) so I finally bit the bullet and bought a new top from tops online. Great service and prompt shipping! Decided to save the $700 in labor and attempt the install myself. It took a good friend of mine and me over the weekend to get this done (along with quite a few trips to the hardware store smh). Not having too much previous experience working on cars I just wanted to let you guys out there know that this is something that you can easily do yourself! Find an extra pair of hands, couple of tools, and save yourself some money! Thanks to Cyclone36 for creating a great DIY.

Just wanted to throw it out there if anyone in the Richmond area is thinking about attempting this I would be willing to help since I have all the tools and plenty of leftover hardware.
Hoping to make some S2K friends.

Plans for the car: AP1 front lip with custom artwork (coming soon), WASP carbon street splitter and side diffusers, and potentially some Buddyclub coilovers.

I look forward to talking with and meeting y'all!

Jiten

Hey there. I don't know too many other guys yet, but I live near the Hampton/Yorktown/Newport area.

Have any plans to Autocross this year?

Welcome! I'm in the Richmond area. I don't daily my s2k so you likely won't see it on the road too much if you're out and about.

Unfortunately there aren't a lot of guys in the Richmond area that are really active on the forums although there are a few number of s2ks in the area.

Yeah, I've seen a bunch around the VCU Monroe park campus. I was hoping there was a community already formed in richmond but it doesn't seem like too many owners get together around here. It would be cool to get more owners involved though...might have to start leaving notes on windshields haha

I also saw in another thread that you roll fenders. You own a shop or just do this in your garage??

I just do it out of my garage or your garage or a friends garage. I don't care too much where as long as it's not outside in the freezing cold or sweltering heat. Just need a place to plug in my heat gun and I'm good to go.

If you need the fenders rolled just let me know It's much easier to do it while the car is still on stock suspension vs. waiting until you have coilovers.
