I hope it's not too late to ask for tips...

I got pulled over in April on my way to Import Eurasia's show at Baltimore Convention Center. The officer gave me 74 in 55, with the fine of $135 or $150.

I was in fact driving at that speed if not faster, so I am planning to plead guilty, pay the fine+court fees, and have the points dropped. I really was following the traffic, but because I was also leading a group of cars (note: a shiny blue M3 and a shiny yellow S2k), the officer in the red Mustang got me instead of the others, including the trucks/sedans/SUVs...

How should I plead? I have a feeling that the officer is gonna be there tomorrow, since I haven't had much luck with Friday the 13th. And I am hoping for the best.

Thanks for your input

Mike

if you haven't been to driving school in the past 18 months, you might want to ask the judge for some leniency in return for the school. the judge may also tack on 6-12 non-ticketing months to have the charge/points dropped. depending on the judge, he/she may not drop the points so get to the court early and sit in on a few cases. if someone has some success, take note of it.

I would speak to the ADA and ask him to make you a deal... ie: You're willing to plead no contest if he allows you to take the driving safety course and cuts the points in half. One big thing though, what does your driving record look like?
Good luck!!

Hope you got lucky and he didn't show.

I recently, on the 10th, went to court in Annapolis for a ticket I got from a detective in an unmarked Malibu while I was doing 95 in a 55 on Rt 50E! He played nice and cut it down to 64 in a 55 before he let me go. I was told to pay the ticket, or else show up in court and suffer the consequences of the full 95 in a 55!! .

Well....procrastination paid off when I put off paying the ticket and the court date was right around the corner. Decided to go to court anyway and plead guilty..since I couldn't mail the fine in on time. But, I didn't need to pay any fine since HE NEVER SHOWED UP FOR COURT!! Mannn was that judge pissed when I plead, "Not Guilty".

Keep us posted Mike.
