Skip - hey man, sorry about the road tax, I mean ticket you just got. It is really getting ridiculous here in Virginia. They just passed another law giving cops (or local goverments) the right to make certain stretches of road (at their whim) double or triple fine areas.....
Hokie, were you asking if I am Asian? If so, then no, I am as white as they come. Like I said in my court story, I am a pretty respectable middle age guy, it just doesn't matter who you are or what they have you for, the cop get believed no matter what it seems

Sorry to learn that you have become a victim of "revenue enhancement". It really "fries" me that the only tickets that I have ever received have been from stationary RADAR! I obey all other laws, use my turn signals to change lanes, follow the two second rule (three in inclement weather), no weaving through traffic, etc. I have had police sneak up behind me while speeding and because I am a safe driving have never been pulled over from behind for speeding. It has always been the "revenue enhancement RADAR". Ironically, the guy that was tailgating never gets pulled over! I live in Northern Virginia and have been passed while in the right lane of the Capital Beltway (495) doing 70 MPH by a guy that passed me on the right shoulder! Where are the police then? Sitting somewhere with RADAR!
BTW, Those of you that travel on Route 17 WATCH OUT in Middlesex County. Two of the last three speeding tickets that I have received have been with RADAR in Middlesex County.
