Hopefully the wait is not too long at Arlington

Thanks, Y'all. The wait at Arlington should be about six weeks for the "simple" ceremony - i.e. no caisson, riderless horse, band. He just wanted the bugler and gun salute. The works means many months of waiting.

So sorry to hear your news Deb. But there is comfort in his passing knowing that your father did so much for so very many during his life. And he helped raised and influence a wonderful daughter that I have the privilege of knowing.
My prayers are with you and your family...
- Dave

The reception yesterday was really great. Many more people showed up than expected and the Rotarians were out in force. Quite a few told stories about my dad, who had an insatiable curiosity about all kinds of subjects. The Tysons Rotary, which he co-founded (the other founder was there) published a nice tribute to him in their journal. Today, most family members departed, with the exception of my sister, who is staying awhile longer. Calm has settled over my parents' house, which is good for my mom. It's been a stressful week. Thanks again for all your thoughts and prayers.

Condolences from my family to you and your family. We lost my father (USN Ret.) this time one year ago. May your father's memory always light your path.
