Why are you moving back to VA?

If I lived in San Diego I'd rather die than move back.
$65/hour + work I really love (i.e. personally satisfying)

I need a career change

Just pick up a 4wd or fwd beater so you can use it if you ever need to haul things around, drive in snow, etc. That way you can keep your S pretty and still drive it 350 days a year.

I was there in winter of '03 and there were a couple of storms that dumped a couple of feet. It wasn't bad at in the Evo, but the S is a lot lower... So I guess the short answer is that a 4x4 pickup wouldn't hurt.

Now, Carrera 4S or Range Rover Sport? Both are sexy, but I think the Rangy would get less attention from Fairfax County's finest...
there are so many porsches in this area, noone will even give you a second look.... every other car out here is either a bimmer, benz or porsche...

back to your question, i can't imagine the s2000 being very proficient in the snow... it's low, rwd, no traction control, wide sport tires.... you should probably get a beater car / truck with awd.... winters here usually aren't too bad but there are years where we just get slammed with snow and sleet.... if you have a job that you have to be at work on those days then you should definitely have another car. another thing to think about are the potholes..... you know from december thru april it's like dodging landmines out there, especially in dc....

I lived in DC for a year once already... Enough with the moving... BLAH

I sold my surfboard when I first moved to VA in '03. I used to live in Huntington Beach.

Thanks for the replies - it looks like I'll just keep my S nice and warm in the winter and drive a used Tacoma 4x4 or something in the winter.
