Thanks MsPerky! That info really helps. If any of you see a guy driving slow with a confused look on his face in a black s, that's probably me so please don't flick me off.

hey gavin,
check out http://www.wmata.com for all of your public transportation needs. i've done alright with just the s in the winter here. watch the weather and be prepared to leave it parked where ever it is if it starts to snow. my $0.02, skip the beater and put the cash into a place within walking distance of a metrorail station.

My old roommate just got a 1 bedroom condo in Arlington (near the couthouse) and he's paying $1100 a month. A place with a garage should be more if you can find one.
I looked at buying a condo in Arlington, and most of them start around $200k before the bidding war. Brand new ones are going for $400k plus!
Nice area though with plenty ofand !

Yeah, Arlington is pretty freakin' expensive. I found a guy to rent an apt or condo with me, so it won't be that bad. We found a 2/1 with a 1-car garage for $1200, and the roomy doesn't care for the garage.
As for the nightlife, I'm 22 and looking forward to it. I may need to "develop" a country accent for the ladies because all of us Texans guys are horse-riding, tabacco-chewing cowboys.
