This cuddly speciman of our 8-legged friends had strung a web all the way across my deck overnight. I ran to get my camera before knocking the damn thing clear across my yard with a broom handle. It was about the size of a half-dollar:





Anyone else noticing any more of these monsters around since the hurricane?

Taken with a Nikon D1x digital camera with a 55mm Nikkor macro lens so, yes, it's a nice camera

we had a HUGE spider strung out across on our sliding door. it was similar looking to the brown one above, but maybe a little more "athletic". he showed up on friday after the storm. i got rid of him by offering him a stick (upon which he promptly clamped onto).... i heaved him and the stick over the fence. he had some mean-mother fangs on him.
