Making my way to the Mid Atlantic forum
Hey guys, just chcking in to say hi. Ive been reading up for the last 2 months on the S2k and am seriously considering buying a new one. I guess my main concern is not being able to use the VTEC on the test drive. Im coming from an '01 Z3 with the 3.0. I loved that car, but at 6'2 I could barely fit in it and at the time I needed a truck badly so I traded it on my truck. I am now getting to the point that I can get back into a car again and am REALLY thinking hard about the S2k.
Point is, just wanted to say hi and thanks to all for the informative posts. This seems to be a great community, at least similar to my 4wheeling community.

I've seen guys taller in the car, however, I'd say you're at the max for any type of prolonged driving. We'll keep a shoe horn around just in case you do get into an S!

Cornfed Suspension, TTORA, 4x4Wire, and a local TLCA member. Thanks for asking
So how does the S hold up to long trips (ie. from Hampton Roads to Maine)
I ask because my g/f lives at the beach and my family is at the beach, but I am currently stationed in Brunswick, ME and am in Sicily until July I know confusing, but stay with me here So I'll be making the 12 hour trip from Maine at least once every month maybe more. Gotta make sure the S can hold up to it. I was fine in the Z3 going from Va Beach to Tampa, FL.
Matter of fact I loved the 12 hour drive with the top down.
I appreciate the warm welcome guys and any things I should know or consider with the S are welcomed

Hey btw I kinda read that you work at Checkered Flag Honda. My g/f has a preapproved check for 15k and has been looking for an Electron Blue 99-01 Civic... Any chance you can help?? The only problem she's having is insurance. Her insurance with Geico would jump up to 300 a month or so and she wants to stay around 250 still. Anyway, I know the guys at Checkered BMW were able to call around for me and get me a better rate on insurance with one of their people.. Anyway, do you 4wheel at all???

Josh - I used to be into trucks like I'm into the S2000.
You could say that these are the current projects:
and this was my old Jeep (probably the most modding I have ever done, but the S is catching up )
I don't know where all my pictures of my old lifted Tacoma are, but you wouldn't be able to see much anyway because the car was covered in mud
As for your girlfriend's car needs - yeah - I work at Checkered Flag, and I can probably refer her to a better insurance company too
Finding a Civic is easy, and it looks like she has more than enough money to buy one

Welcome! Now hurry up and get that S!!
Just so you know, I'm 6'2 and I drive to Atlanta and back a few times a year. No problems yet.
But Electron Blue? That color was only available on the '99-'00 Si.
