Default Low Profile Jack Lift and Stand

All,

Where can I buy a low profile jack that will fit under a lowered car and also jack stands? Is there anywhere I can purchase locally?
Or is this something that I can only find online (if so, any links?)

Your help is appreciated!

Have you checked harbor freight? They usually have cheap aluminum ones. Costco has a big giant steel long low profile one, but its super heavy.

Harbor Freight has nice low pro aluminum jacks and aluminum jack stands for a price you can't beat. If your local store doesn't have them they're worth ordering online. Don't bother with steel jack stands, too heavy and they rust.

I just picked some up a couple of weekends ago from Harbor Frieght. They were on sale. $60 for a 1.5ton aluminum jack. The aluminum jack stands were $80 for 4 I believe but don't quote me on that. They had steel ones, but the shape of the part that touches the car was too much of a "U" and wouldn't work well with the tabs provided on Honda/Acura vehicles.

Oh, and the most recent issue of Modified(and some other magazines) has a ton of coupons in it for there. I think the had the jack and I know they have 1 for 20% off a single item.

I am a big fan of having 4 because you never know when you might need them. However, 2 should be ok for most uses.

I've used both the steel arcan jack found at costco and the aluminum jack at harbor freight. Both have been good to me. The harbor freight jack's wheel did seize on me but that's no big deal. The arcan is super heavy, but it has a 3 ton rating if you need to use it on some heavier cars.

I couldn't get either to my front center jack point without driving on some 2x4's though. Sides were no problem.

I'm trying to do this on a GS430 with 20" wheels so I guess a 1.5 ton jack won't do it?
as 3500 lbs = 1.75 tons?

That's if you're jacking the entire car on the jack lift.

Each stand can hold its rated load. not each.pair or set of 4.

So if.you could balance the S on one 2 ton stand it.would hold it.
