PS. The motor should be dead cold when doing a VA... a consideration.

Hey Skip, Thanks for your fast reply. I would love to let you perform the maintenance on my car, since I know you're a well respected member of our forum and know your stuff. When woud be a good time for you? Keep in mind I would need to order all the parts online like today/tomorrow so I would need a week or two in lead time. Also here is a list of what I plan to order, please let me know if I am forgeting items. Parts:

-oem oil filter
-6qt motor oil
-2qt. manual transmission fluid
-2qt. of differential fluid
-spark plugs
-new valve cover gasket
-washers ect.

Oh I forgot to mention, I would also like to get my clutch fluid changed. How much on top of the $200 would that be?

Let me know.
Thanks
Mike

I tried to send this in a PM but your box was not accepting new messages.

Yeah... something about having over 20,000 PM's for a regular member(max 5000) does that. LOL

I happen to have some of those items. Let me know if you're interested in saving a little money.

Hummm ,,, I remember back in the day .. actually ..... 2005 when we had Tech Days at Peter's Garage or Jeff's driveway or Mike's front lawn or on the street in front of Steve's house ---- where the experts did a little "show, tell and do maintenance" like what's needed above (plus brake pads and rotors and coil overs installed...) oh and we ate pizza or burgers and dogs and all the fixen's, .... so the next time the maintenance is due .. the owner can do it him/herself ......

I know it's been a while, but I had a tech day at my parents' house last summer (since I live in a condo.) I couldn't find a convenient time for them to do it again this year, unfortunately. I'd love to do it more often, but we're short on volunteers to host.

I have all the listed parts as well if you're looking to save money on those. $175 labor for a fellow Mid A member, like skip says though, you may want to drop the car off so the motor will be cold.

I'm in Ashburn and can do all of the above. PM if you are in the area and want to save yourself a drive and you're local. You'd have to bring all your own fluids and replacement parts, but I have the space, tools, and know how to do all of what you need.
