the problems you'll see on those trucks (if they were well maintained) is not the engine or trans but other stupid, but sometimes costly, repairs....water pumps, suspension ball joints, etc. these are labor intensive with jacks up the $$$.

majority of dodge owners deal with tranny issues. skip lucked the hell out. if you buy a domestic make sure you buy either a certified with either a good powertrain or full "wrap" warranty just to protect yourself

I have about 300K miles on Dodge trucks in the last 15 years and never had a problem. Maybe because they were all Dakotas. My 93 is still doing fine in the new owners hands at over 200k miles with nothing but normal maintenance.

That being said do not be afraid of 100K mile plus Toyota I have a 4Runner with close to 150K with no issues either.

Hey if your intrested my parts manager robbie is selling his 2000 toyota tacoma SR5 4x4 Extra Cab. Its a 4cyl. Automatic w/ just approx. 99,500 highway miles on it. He will get in fully detailed in and out through our toyota detailing center before the purchase. Like i said this is owned my parts manager, all services has been done and done on time. Emissions and inspection was just done this month, and new windshield. New tires were put on not too long ago. He just told me before he lets it go he will hand it over to one of our master techs and have the full overview of the car and see if anything needs to be replaced and he will do the service. As for price it right around your max limit, so shoot him an offer. The car is here at Kay Jennings Springfield toyota. Let me know.

yeah dude you'll be stopping at the gas station ALOT! they just suck the gas down, because they have alot of power and they open up when you put the pedal down

anything under a 5 liter should be ok as far as v8 mpg is concerned.
