Reminds me of the other night. Headed home around 1 AM crusing 74-76 in a 70 on interstate 81. Just flowing with the 4 or 5 cars in my little group. When I see a state trooper in the median. Thinking, "Oh I'm flowing with traffic no bigge" he pulls out. So I cut my speed to 70 with cruise control. Pulls me over and says I was doing 75 in a 70... I go I'm sorry just tired trying to go home. Anyways he circles my entire car looking for who knows what. Asks me to start my car and give it a rev I rev'd it to 2k (I have a 63mm T1R single with exhaust cap).... at speed the exhaust is very quite and not bad. He goes oh okay... Goes to his car and comes back with a stupid exhaust ticket blah... Ruined my night

If im correct doesnt 81 run from pa right through james madison university??? If so back in my late teens(18/19) my self and three buddies ( 3 vehicles)turned a 5 1/2 hour trip from nj (rt 78 turns into 81 in pa) into a 3:15 minute trip cause cops never sat on 81. Might have been the.stupidest thing I have ever done ( average speed was between 115-120).. O the fearless day of being stupid. We never saw a single cop. Funny thing was 2 other cars joined us for about 2 hrs of it.

Yeah, 81 runs straight through JMU. I'll be taking mine down for my class reunion this year.

OP: The officer probably didn't have enough proof to give you a ticket. No one gets that lucky.

I beg to differ. Around 2000/2001 I was pulled over on the DC Beltway going about 60 MPH in rush-hour traffic in the right hand lane. I was driving my mom's car with Florida plates. Handed him my license - he looks at me and says "you're a Maryland resident?" I said "Yes, I'm just borrowing my Mom's car for a while." He came back and told me to go ahead (without even a written warning).

I had a warrant out for my arrest and a suspended license at the time (stemming from a missed court appearance regarding an unpaid speeding ticket). Let's just say had I actually been arrested, and had they searched my car... well, I might have been in jail a little longer than 24 hours.

I'm guessing the cop didn't want to have to explain why he pulled me over in the first place. I guess it could have either been an EXTREMELY UNLUCKY day or an EXTREMELY LUCKY day. Lucky for me, somebody was looking out for me that day.

What's funny, is that at the time, I had NO IDEA that I had a suspended license or a warrant. I didn't find out until about a month later. When I found out, I thought back to that day and said "how the hell did I get out of that one?????"

You have to be pretty dumb to speed on 32, let alone hit triple digits on there. There's nothing but cops on that road, especially around the NSA. If your story is true OP, you're one lucky SOB.

I speed on 32 all the time (not close to triple digits), but really the cops around NSA aren't there to catch speeders. Unless you blow by them (and they are always in the same few spots) you aren't in any more risk of being pulled over than any other road (IMO). Between Millersville and Fort Meade the road is very straight - there aren't really many places for cops to hide.

32 is right behind my house. I think people may do some illegal racing on there late at night - I can hear cars/bike SCREAMING past at late hours. I always wonder if it's just people driving fast or people actually racing. Dunno...
