Default Just got back from the Bahamas

Actually I'm still in Miami for my Reaaaally long layover but will be back in Bmore in a few hours.

This was by far the best vacation in my life. I have been in a lot of countries, and seen a lot of things but nothing comes close to the Bahamas. I went to a little island, 6 miles long, and 1/2 mile wide, there was no people around, my family and I rented a house, a boat, and a golf cart.

Every morning we went spear fishing in the ocean, then got drunk and layed on the beach. I saw a shark, i swam in a school of at least 200 fish, saw the most beautiful coral reafs that i've only seen on TV. I can't really find the words to describe how much i loved this trip. There was no phones, no computers, but i got to speed around the little dirt roads in a golf cart .

I have tons of pics, and will post them when I get home.

I went to Freeport about 8 years ago during college. Beach was fine, water was clear, but the nightlife was REALLY lacking on that island.

After seeing that movie, "After the Sunset", with Pierce Brosnan and Salma Hayak, I definitely want to go to Paradise Island and stay at that Atlanis Hotel.

I went to Nassau, Bahama's last Dec. It was the most friendlist place I have visited in years. I usually go to Key west in Dec. however, Nassau was the friendlist. I met Jimmy Buffett at his recording studio in Key West two years ago. I got a picture of Jimmy and had the opportunity to talk with him. That to me is hard to beat. Paridise Isle in Nassau is out-of-this-world.

And then you come back to this fruity Mid-Atlantic, Northern Virginia, DC, MD place... After being in such a beautiful place...after being in a place where the weather is almost always gorgeous, and never freezing, where you can have the top down almost any day of the year, you come back to this crappy place!!!

Sorry, I just hate living in this area for a lot of reasons...

Don't mean to devalue your or anyone else's opinions or experiences, I'm just kirking because after hearing about everything you said, I wish I could live in an area like that...

Glad you (and everyone else here) had enjoyable trip(s)... and hopefully you'll be able to live in this area without any lingering feelings of being back in the beauty you were just in

Glad you had a great time. Took a Windjammer cruise of the out islands of the Bahamas years ago. Everyday we'd take a small boat over to an isolated beach where the crew prepared lunch. Then we'd sun, swim and snorkle. Some peeps scuba dived. It was a blast!!

Stayed 1 week in a 2 bedroom house right by the beach for $2,400 a week. Boat was $560 and the golf cart was $300.

Everything is Super Expensive there so it kinda put a dent in the wallet.
