Default International Spy Museum

The family visited the International Spy Museum down at F & 8th street NW. Very well done! I highly recommend it. The whole extended family enjoyed it ages 10 to 72. We've got a mix of kids, parents and grandparents, artists, company presidents and geeks in the family and no one was bored.

The displays are the best I've seen at any museum, including the Franklin science center in Philly. The interactive exhibits draw you in and hold your attention. There are automatic video and audio exhibits also.

Lots of info about spying, stories about spies, interviews with spy catchers, gadgets used in spying, what it takes to be a spy. Also exhibits talking about how the nature of spying is changing to match the threats of today.

It's truly amazing what the state of the art was during the cold war. Makes me really wonder what the current state of the art is.

Highly Recommended, two thumbs up, 5 stars!

If you want to have some real fun, go to the NSA's cryptography museum up at Ft. Meade. It is kinda surreal:

I've stopped by there twice, only to find it closed "temporarily". Maybe the third time will be the charm.

Could you imagine staying there when it was a hotel? Between NSA surveillance of the place for spies and the spies surveillance of NSA, the place must have glowed.

Thanks for the link.

$11.00 Adults

We went on a Friday afternoon. The Website says that there is usally a long line. We had no wait at all, although it did snow that morning, so the city was not very crouded.

Here's the website

It's usually pretty crowded. Come early!! In the afternoon, the line outside is usually around the block.
