Default I'm looking for new auto insurance

Hey fellow Mid-A'ers ...

So I'm looking to switch to a new auto insurance company ...

Currently I have Geico and pay $270/month @ 21yrs old, 1 at fault accident and 1 moving violation.

Please let me know what you have, how much you pay and if you recommend them

Thanks

<3 Carlo

I have and like Allstate. I'm 102 years old and currently have zero points on the license. Back in my late 30's, they covered my track accident, and my agent calls us on our birthdays.

You really have to call around. Different companies may have different discounts tailored to your specific demographic.

I too have Geico and at your age was paying $140/mo with 1 moving violation on MY00 + liability on the beater. Now, 1 year, 1 accident, and 2 moving violations later, I'm paying $137.50/mo. Plus, my first violation is about to drop off, so I expect a decent decrease. Geico FTW

I can offer a piece of advice... I used to roll with Progressive. I called them to tell them that I was shopping around but I wanted to give them a chance to keep my business. They re-wrote my policy and I ended up with a much lower rate. So... I stayed.

It might be worth a try for you to do the same.

Allstate - 3 yrs ago had a totaled vehicle accident(dropped to following to closely).

I am 22, with just the above listed accident and I pay 180/month on my own policy.

I would call State Farm, and see what they can do for you. I've had them since I was 16, always on my own policy, and never had any problems. I've had a few accidents (not all my fault), and a few speeding tickets in the past, and I only pay $110/month for full coverage on my 03 S2K.

I have Erie. I pay about $100/month for two cars. I'm 33 with clean record. I got my SUV before the S2k. When i call my insurance agent to add my S2k into the policy, she says Erie usually doesn't insure s2k (listed as high performance car) with new customer. Since i've been with them over 5 years and s2k is the second car, they'll insure the s2k.

Give them a call, see what they say

2000 Silverstone S2K and I pay $530 every 6 months.

state farm here, as well. worth a call. the most surprising call was when we added homeowners-like insurance and moved the address to bethesda. the move itself (from gaithersburg) dropped the rate and adding the homeowners (more like renters) dropped it even more. We have 2 cars on the policy (S and WRX) and a couple of speeding tickets each.
