Default I'm about to pull the trigger....

and have the boys @ Evolution slap a Vortech SC on my car. For those local owners with SC...is there any thing I should be aware of before I take the plunge?

I never did a clutch dump, but I still wouldn't recommend it.

Let's see, things to be aware of...

Make sure the belt isn't too tight. Trust me. Loose is better than tight. Tight will cause you all kinds of problems down the line. Also, the factory clutch probably won't last very long... I had an aftermarket clutch before the SC was installed.

Make sure your diff is in tip top shape. The Comptech reinforcement may not be practical unless you have five weeks to wait for it. Cryo treating is another option. Try www.perfcryo.com

Hopefully your diff has been maintained properly and taken care of up until this point. If it is making any noises or if you question it's condition AT ALL, either treat or replace the ring & pinion before you get the SC installed.

That's alright... the race up the driveway was a little sarcasm. The damage actually happened after I rolled onto the throttle at ~5000rpm. But I got the car with 19K miles on it and it had a turbo before I ever got it, so I'm sure it saw its share of dumps

Yes, but none that should concern you. You are buying a NEW Vortech, right?
