Man, rain really isn't friendly with this car at all. Sorry about your mishap, marclw. Good luck!

Bummer, Marc... I was lookin' fwd to meeting another aarp'er who can still manage a clutch As stated elsewhere here, rain is not a friend of the RWD S2000... I was driving back to Philly from the MD-PA dry (???) run on Sunday and had some fun with hydroplaning in the passing lane of the PA turnpike. Luckily, I was able to slow it down... Anyhow, hope to meet you on another drive

Thanks PAS2K! I wished to meet you and the rest of the crew Sunday too. And, I'm glad that you had fun hydroplaning. I sure didn't. Never hydroplane on a curve with no room to spare. That's the lesson I learned Sunday!

I dropped off the car at Rockville Auto Body today. I had tears in my eyes. GEICO's estimate was for $4900. Now I'm driving a 4 door Volvo with automatic. Now there's a good car for an AARPer, eh? BTW, the Volvo's CD player sucks. The 2002 S2k stock unit is much better! I feel like I'm in a cocoon!

Almost everything is being replace, except for the right door which will be repainted to blend into the rest of the new work. I'm even getting new wheels -- over $450 each! Now all I have to do is be patient (not my strong suit). Mike at the shop told me to call him a week from this Friday to see how things are going. I hope they do as good as a job as they did on Chris's car! I was SO reluctant to leave my baby there! Boo hoo hoo!

Marc
