my first ticket was 65/45 in Burke. i missed the first court date and put in a motion for rehearing. the second judge reduced the fine by $50 since it was my first offense and i took driver improvement.

my advice is to prepay the ticket. it's not worth the risk of getting a heavier penalty, and the best outcome will be similar to mine, a mere $50. you could go to court and see if the officer shows. if not, then plead innocent and it will be dropped. if so, just leave, because there is no way, with lawyer or not, that this charge will be dropped or even reduced; so you're getting the points no matter what. just take the course and regain most of the points.

some people will say, "you broke the law, take it like a man." i do not agree with this at all. i am all for exercising my American right to trial, but there's no point fighting a battle you can't win.

question: since i've taken a classroom course, can i take the online course for points?

Looks like im going to prepay and just take the online class, i am curious about how often you can take the class, itd be nice to add more points to my record...although i have no tickets or accidents for 5 years of driving...
