i got pulled over off 395 last night
i wasn't really speeding, but i did take my exit without using my right turn signal. cop speeds up behind me, pulls me over, gives me a ticket for failure to use my traffic signal. there were no cars in front or behind me whatsoever, and i reckon the cop was at least 200 ft behind me at the time that i moved into that lane.
anyway, this will probably raise my insurance, and i have to pay $30 + $61 in court fees. awesome. i guess he was filling his quota.
anyone else find this ridiculous though? i ALWAYS use my signal when i'm making a turn off of one road and onto another, but on the highway in this situation, sometimes i don't, and i got nabbed.

Yes, ridiculous... who knows what the cop was thinking at the time. He could have been having a really shitty day. Either way, that's why I always try to use my turn signal. And on the highway, 200 feet isn't far away at all. Technically that's an appropriate following distance (2-4 seconds behind the car in front of you). Your two options are to either pay the ticket, or go to court and ask for PBJ if you don't have any priors.

if i had been swerving in and out of traffic at high speeds (which i see a lot around here), then i would understand. oh well. arlington cops are generally good about showing up to defend their traffic tickets, so i'm pretty sure that taking 2 hours out of my day to sit in court and "defend" my actions will be fruitless.

You drive a car that stands out on the road. I understand it sucks, but its the law and its not ridiculous. If you dont want to get pulled over, obey the laws. If you dont obey the laws and you know your not, there isnt really a reason to post complaining about it.

How late at night was it? They'll use any reason they can to pull you over and find out if you've been drinking, etc,.

Stop complaining. You knew you are supposed to use your turn signal. Or did you get your license without using one. You broke the law... tough. It's like the guy complaining that he got pulled over because he didn't have a front plate cause he has a C-West front and he gets pulled over for it 3 times. I think this is the idiot below.
