Find out where that TV antenna was mounted and contact THEIR insurance. Take a good look at your soft top frame too. Good luck with the process and repair.

This was at a friends place. He will help me contact the complex manager or something. Should I even call my insurance? or just deal with the place first? Seriously though, what if someone was standing there at the time? This is really screwed up.

Either way... I need to get this fix before winter starts. Hardtop? Or Soft top? Still debating... If HT, Im going to miss having a soft but I do love the way HT looks.

Just b/c you have a hardtop doesn't mean you can't enjoy top down....or should I say top off. I've gone HT and gutted the soft top. No regrets. And if I really want to enjoy some topless driving I just take it off and I'm good to go. Just need to check the weather first

It doesn't hurt to contact your insurance company just to report it - but let them know that you're pursuing through the complex's insurance first.

You should definitely get a claim filed against the complex's insurance company - and make sure to document everything. They will probably ask you take the car to get it evaluated by their insurance person, but it doesn't hurt to get some quotes yourself, as they'll encourage you to go to whomever they have an agreement with - but you have the right to take it to where ever you prefer.

Lastly - you have the right to request a rental car - or you can negotiate a 'credit' for a daily rental for the days that the car is in the shop. If you have a second car, you can usually get between 15-25 a day while the car is in the shop in lieu of the rental car.

Goodluck!

^^ very helpful... thanks! i will get this quoted asap. Probably at the nearest Honda dealership or something. I figured I deal with the complex so I don't have to pay for the deductible on my insurance.

Most likely I will get a HT. Its just worth it.

Am I the only one who found it funny that the antenna tore the top almost exactly where the top tends to tear itself?

^ You mean the two little tears? That was actually caused by the antenna too. That side was actually perfect. My left (driver) side is actually the bad area but has been patched up.
